Laser hair removal techniques were first introduced in the latter half of the 1990s and there were several limitations associated with this procedure. Over time laser hair removal techniques have proved to be the most efficient means of hair removal, offering permanent hair removal solutions. The first laser hair removal was made possible by the Alexandrite and Diode lasers. The problem that arose was that these lasers were not suitable for dark skinned people. The laser did not distinguish between the various skin pigment and the hair follicles, causing the skin to burn. Today things have changed and now laser hair removal techniques have become the best and the most popular solution for a hair-free look.

Today, every man and woman wants to get the hair-free look and people prefer to get rid of hair permanently; a one stop solution to this hair problem is laser therapy. Lasers are basically beams of light which can be absorbed by the pigment contained in the skin, which is melanin. Melanin is responsible for the colour of our skin and hair. The lasers function is based on a concept called Photothermolysis, which involves the passing of light energy through the hair follicles. The light converts to heat energy, thus causing damage to the hair follicles. After several sessions of laser hair removal treatments the follicles tend to become sterile, no longer supporting the growth of the hair. The procedure nowadays is easy and causes little discomfort, making it an ideal solution to get rid of unwanted hair after just a few sessions.

Brazilian lasers have also gained tremendous popularity in the past few years, as they are regarded one of the safest way of removing unwanted body hair from the bikini line and other sensitive areas of the body. Lasers do not penetrate deeply; they only pass through the second skin layer – the dermis and no further. This procedure is therefore safe and doesn’t cause harm to internal organs or glands while removing unwanted hair from the private parts. Getting a Brazilian laser treatment is also completely hygienic and is therefore the preferred choice of many women.

Over time people have used various methods for hair removal; the common ones include shaving, waxing, sugaring, tweezing, threading, electrolysis and depilatory creams. These methods are time consuming and can be painful as well. Moreover, not all of these techniques can be feasibly used for removing facial hair. It is evident that with the advent of lasers people are rapidly casting aside the previous options and are quick to start trying modern solutions for removing unwanted body hair.

Traditional laser hair removal methods were a lot of hassle, although monetarily they remain cheaper. Also these older methods for body hair removal are far less likely to provide long-lasting solutions. Nowadays, men and women want to remove unwanted hair from the abdominal region, stomach, back and other body parts as well; which is made all the easier when treated with lasers.

Laser hair removal methods are definitely effective, less painful and of course permanent. So it is little surprise that more and more people are adopting this fuss free and efficient hair removal method.
