<p>The ability to recover from a serious sports injury, or the ability to prevent a future sports injury is vital for the performance and the health of many athletes, both professional and novice.</p>
<p>A qualified physio often works with elite athletes and top performers, as well as those who simply engage in sports activities in their spare time. Whether it is a serious sports injury that requires months of care and treatment, or a program designed to prevent a sports injury from occurring, the work of a physiotherapist can often mean the difference between a successful lifetime of sports or a career cut short due to an extensive injury.</p>
<p>A physio may work alongside coaches, health care professionals and sports scientists, just to name a few. The job of a physio includes examining and diagnosing injuries, setting up treatment programs, determining the proper kinds of treatment for the particular sports injury, and using those treatments to effectively heal or rehabilitate the athlete.</p>

<p>Often times, going back to the basics and re-learning the factors behind successful weight loss can give you the tools necessary to move forward and begin a healthier lifestyle.</p>
<p>If you want to know how to lose weight, begin by following the staples of any healthy lifestyle. They include:</p>

<li>Increase your activity level. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park you car at the end of the parking lot for a longer walk into the office. Take a walk around the block before heading off to work. Walk the dog for 20 minutes instead of five minutes.</li>

<p>The good news is that increasing your physical activity does not have to involve structured exercise programs. Instead, incorporating physical exercise into your daily routine is often the best first step when you are looking to loose weight.</p>

<li>Eat smaller portions. The next time you prepare your dinner, consider that a serving of meat is equal to the size of a deck of cards. Use a smaller plate to trick your mind into thinking you’re eating more and start cutting back on your portion sizes.</li>
<li>Increase your fruit and vegetable servings. If you begin cutting down the portion sizes of your starches and meats, you can compensate with larger servings of healthy fruits and vegetables. Aim for five to seven servings a day, and choose colorful vegetables for a punch of vitamins, minerals and fiber.</li>
<li>Get a good night’s sleep. Many studies show that individuals who lack sleep often eat more during the day. So do your body a favor and get a good night’s sleep!</li>
<li>Hide the scale. Obsessing over your weight as you lose weight is counterproductive and frustrating. Bring out the scale no more than once a week, and instead focus on healthy eating habits that will not only help you loose weight, but will benefit your body and your mind.</li>
